Paul Kalkin (LMFT #93270) has been offering professional counseling and clinical consultation to individuals, couples, and families for over four years. In addition to his master’s coursework and thesis, Paul has trained with leading experts in community mental health, addiction research and treatment, and couples counseling.
Paul received his master’s in counseling psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. Since 2012 he has provided treatment to couples and families struggling with threats to integrity, such as addictions and other compulsive behaviors.
Paul has attended workshops with Dan Wile on “Collaborative Couple Therapy” and Dr. Mary Target with “Attachment, Love and the Peculiarities of Sexual Desire.” Paul has received training in Gottman method couples therapy and “Cultural Competence with BDSM Relationships” via Dossie Easton. He has also studied the psychoanalytic treatment of extramarital affairs in Susan Berger’s “Affairs to Remember” seminar. Paul is currently in psychoanalytic training through the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis.
