The SAIT (Sex Addiction-Induced Trauma) model was pioneered by Dr. Omar Minwalla, and conceptualizes many partners’ emotions and behaviors as understandable responses to the traumatic nature of discovery—and as attempts to restore reality and safety. Foundry’s partners groups DO NOT label partners as co-addicts or codependents.
This “closed” weekly support and process group is designed for partners dealing with the aftermath of sexual betrayal in their relationships. This is not a drop-in group for casual participants. Three assessment sessions are required to determine whether group will be the right fit. We request a 3-month minimum commitment.
For partners, group is the most crucial resource for healing. The discovery of sexual addiction leaves partners shocked, embarrassed and ashamed—but also afraid of inviting gossip if they confide in others. Friends and family may offer support, but these opinions and judgements can be uneducated and injurious. For partners, there’s no substitute for sitting in a room surrounded by people who understand firsthand the many issues unique to partners of sex addicts. Please consider reaching out so you don’t have to suffer in isolation.
Group is an affordable treatment option, provides contact with peers in the same difficult situation, and is facilitated by trained psychotherapists you can trust to provide educated perspectives and valuable information.
